I agree with you. Indeed I think Nii should be careful not to get caught in
the trap of appearing to attempt to influence the outcome.

I would like to see you chair the GA - if that's what you want. I suggest that
you have no current responsibilities (as Raul said). My advice (for what it's
worth) is that, if you want the chair, you should state that you would be
willing to serve if selected, and that you therefore feel that you cannot
participate in the current discussions.
(As my father always said "Free advice is worth every penny you pay for it" :-)
