[council] Complaint
Dear Names Council Colleagues,
I regret to inform you that (once again) great offence has been caused to
members of the ccTLD Community by DNSO Web page references to the ccTLDs. (See
below).
It seems that the DNSO Secretariat cannot control the desire to add comments
that reflect a particular (negative) view of the ccTLD world.
The phrase "warrants further investigations on the registry legitimate
authority" is completely inappropriate and unacceptable to members of the ccTLD
Community.
The ccTLD Constituency Administration Committee is considering the position and
will advise the Names Council on what action must be taken to address this
situation.
On behalf of the ccTLD Constituency Administration Committee
Dennis

"Country code TLDs - ccTLDs
To register a domain name in a country code TLD (such as .uk or
.jp), please contact the corresponding ccTLD registry:
http://www.iana.org/cctld.html. Registering your domain name under a ccTLD
warrants further investigations on the registry legitimate authority and on
the namespace delegation policy. Please note that ccTLD's policies vary and
check the following:
1.in which country a ccTLD registry is located
2.in which country a ccTLD registry is incorporated (if private company)
3.under which country law a ccTLD registry operates
4.charter of a ccTLD registry
5.liability of a ccTLD registry
6.technical capability of a ccTLD registry"
