I believe I agree with almost all your points. However, the straw poll we
took at the NC meeting was not, to my understanding, about the question you
want answered.

I believe your question is a better one but unfortunately it was not the one
we were asked!

I will be asking the NC shortly to endorse the second proposal of WG C
regarding criteria for choosing new gTLDs. These are key criteria and help
lead thinking towards the question of how many.
