[council] Another way to make teleconference without paying phone bills
Hi to all:
I have a proposal for future teleconferences that may help to Names Council
increase the chance all its members attends it without worriying about budget
for calls.
There is a system named VRVS and you can see it in http://www.vrvs.org
This system allows you to have audio and/or videoconference totally on the
Internet from any computer connected to Internet (dialup, LAN etc). Though
they have developed their own client software in certain operative system, also
it can be used with any H323 client (Netmeeting, and others) regardless the
operative system you use.
The use of VRVS are free for Non-Commercial purposes. All you have to do is
register your machine in the VRVS, download the software provided by them
(or use any H323 client you wish), and make reservation for the day of the
audioconference.
The system is there totally for free...why not use it? If any, several or all
members of the Names Council is interested in make a test, please, post it to
the list, and I am sure that we can organize ourselves for make such a test.
Best Regards
Vany
