RE: [council] NC fees - ACTION required

I can confirm that the registrars have paid.  In fact, apparently we have overpaid.

Please also note that the registrars constituency has members that have joined voluntarily.  Most of these members are small businesses, and thus any fees paid to the registrars constituency and hence the DNSO should not be taken for granted.  These businesses have joined in good faith that they will be able to get issues resolved within the ICANN process efficiently and effectively.

If there is a perception that other constituencies are not required to pay their dues, it will be difficult in future to convince registrars that they should pay their dues.

Subject: [council] NC fees - ACTION required

Constituency fees for 2002 were discussed at yesterday's (July 11) NC meeting and constituencies reported as follows:

BC, IP fully paid
Registrars - reportedly fully paid (to be confirmed)
ISP - unpaid - intend to pay shortly
Non-coms - mostly unpaid - making efforts to collect
cctLDs - unpaid - to be discussed next meeting
gTLDs - unpaid - constituency reports no decision to pay.

On behalf of the NC may I ask Constituencies the following and to provide answers by the next NC meeting July 24?

1. Registrars - to confirm payment has indeed been made.
2. ISPs -  to provide a date when payment should be expected.
3. Non-commercials - to confirm that all the necessary invoices have been sent and that efforts will continue to collect fees.
4. gTLD registries - to confirm the Constituencies intent to pay 2002 fees, and if the intent is positive to provide a date when payment should be expected.
