It may not be that simple.  There are actually several contracts that 
refer to each other, and the legal implications may not be that simple.  

Moreover, VSGN really can't afford to take any chances here.  They have 
to be *sure* that the extension is approved, significantly in advance 
of the drop dead date.

I don't disagree in principle; it's just that in practice it may be 
much more difficult than you imagine.
