Philippine Gov't Intervenes In .ph Internet Dispute

The debate involving the Philippines' ".ph" country code top-level domain
(ccTLD) is now under the jurisdiction of the Department of Trade and Industry
(DTI), by virtue of both the E-Commerce Law and the Consumer Act.
This was announced yesterday by DTI Assistant Secretary Toby Monsod in the
face of the recent "controversial exchange" of allegations between parties
allied with DotPH Inc., the existing provider of the .ph ccTLD, and groups
criticizing it.
