No, I don't think so, because I agree with you here.
Our chair was not elected (At least in his opinion) to be our chair,
but to give his activism a stamp of authority and support.
I have yet to see anything from him that I would have expected from a
real chair by now.
And that's the real pity.
Just like people in this country criticism judges who exceed their
authority and become what is labelled an "activist judge" (one who
seeks to expand law by his rulings, rather than sticking to his role
of interpreting the law), we have an activist chair and alternate
chair.
And nothing to balance their activism out.
