  Our Two Featured eHows
  eHow to Clean CDs

Dirty CDs can skip or just stop playing. For best results, use a CD cleaning fluid and anti-static cloths made for cleaning CDs.

Steps:

  1. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for using a cleaner. In any case, put the cleaner on your cloth first, not on the CD itself.
  2. Hold the disc by its edges and center hole. (image 1)
  3. Use an anti-static cloth to wipe across the CD with your other hand. (image 2)
  4. Work from inside to outside in straight lines, not circles. (image 3)
  5. Wip until the CD is clean and dry.

eHow to Save Energy in the Summer

Utility bills don't have to skyrocket just because the temperature does. These guidelines follow the recommendations of Pacific Gas and Electric Company.

Steps:

  1. Use exterior shades, awnings or deciduous plants to shelter your house from sunlight.
  2. Keep your air conditioning condenser shaded.
  3. Keep your furnace pilot light off during the summer.
  4. Use pool covers to prevent heat loss by evaporation and to save energy.
