[ga] [Fwd: Smoking Mom & Checking Out Porn]
All assembly members,
Thought part of this would be of some interest to all of you
concerning the issue of Privacy/filters.
See specifically:
"a Pennsylvania court case is challenging the
federal law that requires libraries to use internet
filtering software. Will the filters make too much
information out of bounds? Is this measure going to
protect kids or violate individual rights? Can
anything be done to keep kids away from harmful
information on the internet? The president of the
ACLU and Donna Rice Hughes make the case for and
against filtering internet content."
Regards,

============================================================
>From CNN's Crossfire Staff:
Tonight in the Crossfire... a judge in upstate New York
has ordered a mother to kick her smoking habit in order
to see her son. Has the court overstepped its bounds or
are there legitimate concerns about second hand smoke?
Should judges be able to impose restrictions on the
personal habits of parents? Does this case set a
dangerous precedent or a good model for other states
to follow? The mother and father of the boy join us
to debate the issues.
Then, a Pennsylvania court case is challenging the
federal law that requires libraries to use internet
filtering software. Will the filters make too much
information out of bounds? Is this measure going to
protect kids or violate individual rights? Can
anything be done to keep kids away from harmful
information on the internet? The president of the
ACLU and Donna Rice Hughes make the case for and
against filtering internet content.
