Re: [ga] Motion asking for GA poll on rebid of ICANN contract - update 1

Dear Eric and WXW,
we are about serious things, disputes on personnal agenda are out of scope.
We are only a few - the DNSO GA peopoe - to know that the world is not the
ICANN and yet that the ICANN could help the world. The error of the ICANN
is to try to manage and develop the LegacyNet instead of serving the whole
Internet. The second error are its structurers inherited from Jon Postel's
reading by Joe Sims (I suspect Jon Postel would be surprised).

We have had a dream period with Ira Magaziner, Mike Rroberts, etc.. I am
not sure Lynn understands what is at stake, but he has risen the question.
And the question is worth more than an ICANNpatch.

IMHO a new contract would oblige the USG to pragmatically review and commit
on the ICANN duties. Itis the only way to have it dialoging with the ITU/T
and being protected from the ITU/T. IMHO that contract could also be with
the EEC, the Minc, the AINC, New.net, Open Roots, RIR, gTLDs, etc.

The momentum may certainly come from the GA as it did for Plan B.
I thank Joanna for her effort and Thomas to support that debate. We all
have diofferent opinions and styles: for once please let use them to call
for a debate with others rather than arguing internally.

Jefsey
