[ga] Washington Internet Daily reports on the motion for a re-bid

Title: Help
Tomorrow's Washington Internet Daily reports on Jamie Love's motion for a re-bid in some detail, and also quotes Thomas Roessler as stating that the resolution must meet 3 conditions:

1. It should be a statement on ICANN structure, mission and a possible re-bid.

2. There should be 10 supporters.

3. The Resolution's final text, and the list of supporters, should be published by May 10th.

The outcome of any vote "would be a non-binding expression of the opinion of the majority of those individuals who choose to participate in the vote, nothing more, nothing less".

In particular, he was reported as saying, the vote shouldn't be taken as a statement of consensus of the DNSO constituencies.

He said if a vote occurs, the most likely timeline was May 13th-17th.

The fact that this motion is now being so publicly discussed in influential Washington circles will in my opinion send a clear message to DoC that the concept of a re-bid is a realistic possibility, given the widespread criticism closing in on ICANN from so many quarters.

What DoC's own agenda is, of course, is another matter.
