Simply the heavy involvement that WCP has w/ Verisign, the DNS and the DOC
over the years (roster, issues, etc.)

But, the "intriguing" part likely stems from my predilection for fantastic
conjecture more than the reality of the situation...In other words, like all
good conspiracy theory's, this is likely a happy coincidence.
