Re: [ga] HMS .ac, long may she sail - Mostly old info...

Gary and all assembly members,

Mostly old info here Gary. But thank you anyway for point it up
again. Rehashing sometimes has good reminder benefits as well
as education benefits for potential new GA members.

The slight of hand game that ICANN has tried to play with
ccTLD's and less used gTLD such as .EDU as Ted put
it "Coin of the Realm" should come as no surprise given
that ICANN was captured from the get go by CORE
and the old gTLD-MoU folks... As Mike Roberts got
.EDU for his early on efforts for ICANN as the first
CEO in a exclusive bid allowed by DOC/NTIA,
"Coin of the Realm" is appropriate. Let us not
forget that Mike Roberts was the central figure
that killed the IFWP effort and put ICANN
where it is today.
