I don't blame them for not wanting to publish their email address, but
how then will they be notified of pending expiry or other administrative
notices by the registrar?
That is what I was referring to in earlier posts wrt privacy. The registrar
should have the address, but the registrant should have the option to not
publish it, epecially if there is a website to which one can go to post a
message to the webmaster.
Spam is the scourge of the net, IMO, but some of the spamfilters are
almost as bad in filtering legitimate messages while still allowing UCE.
