Re: [ga] Re: [Monitor & Chair] Reminder and Final Warnings: Sims,Dierker, Field, Fleming
Dear Professor Froomkin
That is decent and magnanimous. I'm willing to withdraw my request of
course - after all, you were the injured party.
There is a kind of "Last Days of Rome" atmosphere emanating from ICANN
recently, resembling a kind of hysterical paranoia or collective nervous
breakdown.
Following the "Auerbach debacle", the NewTLD fiascos, the DoC breathing down
their neck, the growth of the "real" At Large, the onward movement of the
ccTLDs, the critical noises from GAC at Budapest, the ITU offerings, the
whole Worldcom atmosphere (which let's face it, is pretty close to home) -
you can't help feeling they have a "Nobody Loves Us" mentality just now.
"Why doesn't anyone understand us?" they seem to be asking.
Alas - people understand them all too well (in growing numbers).
The bizarre Cohen/Sims messages create a truly "Alice in Cyberland"
atmosphere... and THIS is the way to administer a worldwide resource?
Richard Henderson
www.theInternetChallenge.com for news of the growing At Large movement, now
represented in 75 countries, and asking for ordinary users to be elected to
help administer the DNS and bring some balance to the ICANN Board
