ICANN's poor Corp. Responsibility example to: Re: [ga] YesNIC hoarding joesworld.com
Ross Abraham and all assembly members,
Abraham, Ross is essentially correct here. However there are
a couple of problems with the RAA agreement and in the sections
that Ross referenced below in his response.
One problem is really the first problem and that is that the
RAA agreement itself is not a consensus of the stakeholders/users
as required under the White Paper and the MoU.
Another more specific problem with the RAA is that regardless
if any such DN is active or not, it should remain in the zone file.
This in effect causes registrars Whois's to sometimes be inaccurate
unnecessarily.
And another problem is as Ross rightly stated it. The
Registrar in question here, http://www.yesnic.com should keep
their whois database updated more frequently so as to be
more accurate.
And a final problem is that ICANN should as the first level of
oversight in the White Paper, take deliberate steps to get the
registrar to adhere to their RAA agreement regardless if such
an agreement is a Stakeholder/user consensus or not, as ICANN
itself is the other party in the RAA agreement by contract.
To me and now a growing number of stakeholders/users this
type of situation which ICANN created itself shows a decided
lack in Corporate Responsibility on the part of the ICANN
Staff, and to a leser degree the ICANN BoD for not taking
adjective action on the ICANN staff...
If ICANN cannot, or will not police it's own "Accredited" Registrars,
it is clear that as a Corp. entity it is acting irresponsibly and
improperly.
