Re: [ga] Byfield on GA Reform / comments
Thomas and all assembly members, stakeholders or other interested
parties,
Well Thomas it comes a no surprise that you are in conflict with
Ted's assessment. That's fine. I also do not entirely agree with
Ted's assessment either. Nor do any of our [INEGroup] members
as far as I know at this time (We are still assessing)..
I also did not entirely agree with Joanna's comment that Ted
Linked to in his article op-ed piece either. But I and our members
can sympathize with Joanna's feelings in her brief comment. See:
http://www.dnso.org/clubpublic/ga-full/Arc11/msg00200.html
Our overall position has been clear for some time now. That
being simply stated that any so called "Reform of ICANN" in the
so called "Blueprint" and ERC are only an attempt to limit or
curtail stakeholders/users self determination and damage SME's
(Small to Medium Enterprises) on the internet to the degree that
only large IP and large business will squelch or smother such
undertakings or enterprises, of which many will either disappear
by going out of business due to unfair advantage of large enterprises,
or be swallowed up by them. This is not a long term healthy scenario
for the stakeholders/users and does not lend itself to a stable DNS,
let alone the Internet as a whole... And thereby creates a continuing
gap and aid to the dotcom debacle that has yet to recover adequately
and now if such a process is implemented as the ICANN BoD
without the stakeholders/users voted approval, deepen the economic
downturn we are now globally experiencing...
This is why we [INEGroup] have dubbed this reform effort
the "Black-and-Blueprint"...
