  In Brief

Aristotle Editors

We are just passing through 560,000,000 Internet users world-wide. In the US more than 65% of the population over six years old has Internet access.  The vast majority of users operate from their homes; second their work; and third are 'public' venues.

The pundits are predicting a dramatic spurt in Internet users over the next three years. The single largest sector will be cell telephones connecting to the Internet. By the way, there are 1,200,000,000 cell numbers world-wide.

The mobile Internet users are expected to turn to tourism, restaurant, churches, and event applications as a major reason for Mobile Internet services or M-Commerce.

Planning Achievement, Where the Rubber Meets the Road
by:  Amy Cole, Executive VP and COO, The Forbes Group

Planning achievement is where the organization creates a detailed plan of resources, allies, and milestones to realize the vision and to monitor whether the organization is having an impact. This is where the environmental scanning, trends identification and visioning will come in to play as the organization assigns importance and priority to the data gathered.

Only In The Bathroom?
by the Aristotle Research Team

Wirthlin Worldwide conducted studies in 2000 and 2002 to compare where Americans believe cell telephones should be used.  Respondees dramatically lowered their ‘Acceptablility’ rating for using cell telephones while driving from 76% in 2000 to only 46% in 2002.  Also losing acceptability were restaurants, supermarkets, public transportation, and in the movies.  The only gainer:  In the bathroom!

With the proliferation of cellular telephones, we want to know if you have changed your telephone usage?
