Hello Fishy Friends!
Hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend, I know I sure did.
I love those four day weekend but it sure is hard coming back
to work on Mondays.
Don't forget to read today's fishing joke (located at the
bottom). It was submitted by CIGARBASS and it's a good one.
Keep all those great jokes coming! Until Saturday....

Lures
Crankbaits:
Crankbaits are very easy lures to use. They do not
require much knowledge to use. The best way to retrieve
them for largemouth bass is a stop and go retrieve. Use
brightly coloured lures in muddy or stained water. Also,
in low visibility water use crankbaits with rattles in
them. Fish these lures close to cover, but watch out,
the many treble hooks hanging off of it can cause snags.
In clear water do not bother using crankbaits. The fish
can see the obvious hooks and will notice it as a fake.
Grubs:
Grubs can be used many ways. The most common way to
retrieve them are a vertical jigging motion or to crawl
it along any cover. When jigging it vertically the bass
seem to eat the lure mostly on the downfall. Crawling
the lure can make the lure appear as a crawfish scurrying
along the bottom of the lake. Using a lead head rig is
most common for grubs, but when fish are very finicky
use the split shot rig. The split shot rig is a more
subtle way to represent the lure. In clear water use
small grubs with natural colours (ex. Pumpkinseed or
smoke), while in murky water use bright colours (ex.
Chartreuse).
Plastic Worms:
Worms are a favourite lure among bass fisherman. These
lures can be used in many different ways. The most common
way to rig a plastic worm is texas style. The texas rig
allows the lure to be virtually 100 percent weedless
because th point of the hook is actually hidden in the
lure itself. In clear water use a smaller plastic worm
with the lightest weight possible. In murky water do not
be afraid to use a brightly coloured worm, even though
the purple and black coloured worms seem to be a favourite
among most anglers.

* The Attack on a USS Liberty - At Last The Truth Revealed *
One of the most probing videos ever produced on a little known,
but brutal incident that involved Israel, attempting to sink
an American ship. In June of 1967, the American ship USS
Liberty was attacked and the subject of the largest cover-up in
Naval history. This video clearly shows that Israel, despite
their denials, purposely attacked the USS Liberty. 34 US
crewman died and it has taken 34 years for the surviving
veterans to begin the process of justice. Why did Israel attack
the US ship? Why did Israel strafe the life rafts? Why was this
top secret until now? Brilliant and powerful you won't want to
miss this landmark video. To order or for more informaiton visit:

Spinnerbaits:
Spinnerbaits do not represent anything natural on the
largemouth bass' diet, but nevertheless, it is proven
to be a very good lure. The willow type blade gives off
the most flash, making it good for clear water. The
colorado type blade gives off the most vibration and
noise, making it the spinnerbait of choice for stained
water. Spinnerbaits with rounded heads can be fished
slowly for inactive fish, while the pointed head
spinnerbaits seem to be the most snag proof. Spinnerbaits
with short arms are best to use in open areas. The long
armed spinnerbaits are more weed proof. Spinnerbaits
with only one blade are best used for active fish but
require a faster retrieve to keep the blade moving. Two
bladed spinnerbaits are best for working inactive fish
very slowly or else in murky water. Spinnerbaits can be
retrieved in very many different ways. Experiment with
the retrieve speed and style until you get the right one.
Top Water:
Top water baits can be a very fun lure to use. Seeing a
big old largemouth bass jump out of the water to hit
your bait is a real thrill. Top water baits are best
used in low light conditions. Bass are light sensitive,
therefore, they do not like looking into light. During
low light times of the day (ex. Overcast days, morning,
night, or extremely cloudy times) bass could go crazy
over top water lures. To use top water lures to their
most effectiveness, fish them using the low light times
when the water is calm and in shallow water. Top water
lures include, Prop baits, buzzbaits, frogs, and minnows.

FISHING JOKES CORNER
------------------------------------------------------------
A kind-hearted fellow was walking through Central Park
in New York and was astonished to see an old man, fishing
rod in hand, fishing over a beautiful bed of lillies.
"Tsk Tsk!" said the passerby to himself. "What a sad sight.
That poor old man is fishing over a bed of flowers. I'll
see if I can help." So the kind fellow walked up to the old
man and asked, "What are you doing, my friend?"
"Fishin', sir."
"Fishin', eh. Well how would you like to come have a drink
with me?"
The old man stood put his rod away and followed the kind
stranger to the corner bar. He ordered a large glass of beer
and a fine cigar.
His host, the kind fellow, felt good about helping the old man,
and he asked, "Tell me, old friend, how many did you catch this
morning?"
The old fellow took a long drag on the cigar, blew a careful
smoke ring and replied, "You are the sixth today, sir!"
[Great Joke Cigarbass, THANKS]
