[ga-roots] Alt Roots in NZ

There has been a bit of discussion in NZ recently about alternative
roots after the Wapterix Internet Group e-mailed every ISP asking them
to resolve .z domains by using adns.net and ORSC.

As can be seen from the archives at
http://list.waikato.ac.nz/archives/nznog/2001/06/threads.html the
request met a universally negative response and not a single ISP
thought it was in their or their customers' interest to recognise the
alternative root.

To make matters worse the Wapterix Internet Group then followed up
today (archives update tomorrow) with a 13 page MS Word document to
the NZNOG list basically telling everyone why they are wrong and how
they weren't spamming.  This has generated an even more hostile
response.

If anyone here is with adns.net or ORSC I suggest they tell Wapterix
to pull their heads in.  Their petulant amateurish approaches are
counter productive to say the least.
