Pretty scarey. Is it too much to expect that NSI will modernize
their authentication systems? At a time when secure transactions on
the internet are commonplace, is there any excuse for NSI using its
primitive systems, which don't work, have never worked correctly,
and appear on the face of them to be something left over from the
days of Pine and Send-mail?

The case of NSI-the-registry is living proof, if ever it were
needed, that monopoly foments inefficiency, bad service, and
indifference to customers.

This inexcusable crap, which makes domain name registration and
maintenance a perpetual nightmare, will only stop when an end is
finally put to the domain name registry monopoly, now supported and
abetted by ICANN in total contradiction to its stated founding
principles, as embodied in its Articles of Incorporation.

NSI-the-registry, ICANN, and ICANN's accredited registrars are an
illegal trust, and must be broken up so that the Internet can be
free to respond to the community of users and the needs of
consumers.
