Patrick and all,

  Your "Rule" may apply to YOU, but not others.  If someone sends me
private E-Mail that is relevant to the discussions here, I MAY post
it publicly if I deem that to be reasonable.  I may or may not ask
the originator to do so either.  For the record again.  Anyone may
post any of my private posts to this or any other list based on their
judgment without asking me permission to do so.  I have nothing to
hide...

  So I reject YOUR rule based on what I have just said, and practical
experience.
