Since you chose to impose censorship, I chose to leave this group.
I refuse to participate in a body who feels that its first task was to
establish a means to gag those who make some feel uncomfortable.
I refuse to participate in a body that uses the nuclear weapon of
prior-censorship instead of helping those who wish to be self-selective
do so privately.
Not that I'm leaving a body that has any power - the General Assembly is
powerless and ignorred by the Names Council of the DNSO. And the Names
Council is ignorred by the ICANN board. And the ICANN board is routinely
bypassed by ICANN's executive officers.
As an aside, those so-called "rules" were not adopted by anything that can
even claim to have a remote resemblance to a fair and open process -
starting with the vague announcement to the jello-like metrics of
"consensus".
Perhaps the GA is best characterized by the phrase in its URL: "Club
Public".
The GA is a club with which I no longer chose to be associated.
In passing I suggest that the General Assembly change its name. It is
neither "General" nor an "Assembly".
