without having read the registration - it sounds about as bad as the pulver 
.tel - if you want to offer a monopoly service for geo location, offer it 
under .yourchoiceofmark.com.

I feel pretty certain that at least one, probably more, of the new TLDs 
will be open TLDs, and thus parallel to .com. I've decided I don't care how 
many .coms there are.
