Two points here, competition at the Registry level and what entities may be
responsible for them are two different issues. There can still be competition
between non-profit entities. Such competition would drive efficiency.
I also feel there may be some confusion by what is meant by a non-profit entity.
These are run on corporate lines and have similar structures to commercial
entities. However, the difference is in the disbursement of any income excess
and the mentality behind the management. Do not confuse what I mean by
non-profit organisations with some of the bureaucracies you may be familar with.
With non-profit entities, there would not be a garnering of profit for localised
consumption as we currently see with the commercial entities. You would rather
we have large commercial empire builders?
