It is certainly redundant, given the candidate's prior acceptance. Fortunately, it
was also unnecessary under the GA rules, as Patrick had 5 prior endorsements at the
time, and qualified for the GA ballot. And, he now has more than the 10 "needed" to
qualify under the presumed NC rules for its consideration.
Thus, his comments are only a reminder that this issue needs to be revisited after
the (s)election.
