At one time, like you, I refused to pay inflated software prices. I still
do. At one time, Borland had a reasonable licensing policy...no longer.
Recent SW expenditures;
DreamWeaver UtltraDev - $600
Jbuilder Enterprise - $3,000
Rational Rose - $6,000
Oracle Enterprise - $2,500
Win2Kserver - $1,500
MS-Exchange - $1,000
Total $14,600
The machines this all runs on;
3 Linux hosts $1500
2 Win2K hosts $2500
1 Win2K laptop $3000
Total $7000
