Doubting others motives does not help. Perform and publish your own
study of the at-large?

Leaving does not help. Some will stay and provide the bottom-up
consensus process of 'the [sic] ICANN community' with 'legitimacy'. If
you leave, you give up, unless you start, say a 'euroroot' or
something.

Why? I am thinking of a good new (three character!) TLD string to set
up DNS for.
