ICANN CEO RESPONDS TO CRITICISM
ICANN CEO M. Stuart Lynn has responded to public criticism from two
ICANN at-large board members who argued that ICANN needs major
structural changes. Lynn responds that the ICANN board is not a rubber
stamp on issues presented by the staff and that interested parties

VERIZON STRIKES BACK AT COVAD
Verizon has filed a lawsuit against Covad. The company alleges that
Covad made false claims that Verizon was not providing lines for Covad's
DSL service and ordered employees to file phoney reports to mislead
consumers and regulators.

ICANN To Gauge Privacy Concerns Over 'Whois' Database
The organization charged with managing the worldwide Domain Name System
(DNS) has launched a study to gauge privacy concerns raised by the
plethora of personal information contained in the "Whois" database, a
publicly searchable resource used to determine the identity of domain
name registrants.
