Where do you find this? It all will depend on how the ALAC members will be
(s)elected. I went there smiling and thanking them at the mike, but in fact
I tried to say: please let us make proposals in defining *that* point. That
is the crucial issue. I aim at having elections for at least half of the
ALAC members - it will never be the same as electing Board members, but at
least it would be a way of letting the concept of elections pass. There is
general support for elections among the ALOC organizations, so I think it is
feasible to have consensus in the ALOC on that, and once there's consensus
there, the Board might end up accepting that.
