Alan and all former DNSO GA members or other interested parties,

  Indeed ICANN should not have made such a requirement.
However PIR/ISOC/Afilias could have just said NO to that
requirement.  Doesn't seem they did, in fact it looks like
they leaped happily at the chance to "Please" the ICANN
BOD and staff instead of thinking about the ramifications
and potential harm and confusion that such a errant
requirement would create.

  That's simply irresponsible and inexceptable in the
extreme...

  Sorry but PIC/ISOC/Afilias isn't getting a pass from
our members that are .ORG registrants, and that includes
me...
