[ga] .Name Agreement Appendix I - the separation of Registry and Registrar

Title: Help

Given the news that GNR are going to sell .name domains direct (through Personal Names.com) as well as acting as Registry (and supplier to other registrars) can they confirm, please, that the following sections of Appendix I of their agreement with ICANN will be upheld:

http://www.icann.org/tlds/agreements/name/registry-agmt-appi-03mar01.htm

8. No member of GNR's Board of Directors will simultaneously serve on the Board of Directors of an ICANN-Accredited Registrar that obtains Registry Services from GNR.

9. No employee of GNR will hold a greater than 5% interest, financial or otherwise in a company that obtains Registry Services from GNR.

10. No employee of GNR will also be an employee of any GNR subsidiary, affiliate or other related entity that also operates as an ICANN-Accredited Registrar.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

My understanding is that Personal Names is accredited as a registrar by ICANN. Therefore presumably they will adhere to Clause 8 above. Clause 9 speaks for itself. Will Clause 10 also be adhered to?

Thanks for any response to this, as there have been previous conflicts involving Registries whose Directors have also run Registrars, involving abuse of process.

It will therefore be some reassurance if GNR can confirm their commitment to the terms of their ICANN-Registry Agreement.
