RE: [nc-intake] Drfat report for NC meeting 17 August
Roberto et al.,
There is not yet a mailing list with the "Voting Registry"
members, but it will be created when necessary upon request.
Today we have 202 members on that list, I believe some
persons registered here in parallel to the At Large Membership,
-- I noted an increased traffic in the end of July and do not
see any other explanation/correlation.
I noted also that each time there is a nomination to the ICANN Board
position, a group of supporters apply to the "Voting Registry"
-- some of them do it simultaneously and use the similar wrong template.
Do not tell me it is NOT correlated -- I know it is not. I explain to you
here how confusing it is for end users to distinguish in the ICANN/DNSO
jungle superposed sometimes to Constituency jungle.
Elisabeth (going astray from the main subject)
NB. I browsed very rapidly your comments, and wonder if some requests
are compatible with technical possibilities. I need to re-read your
proposal to comment more.
Coming to Chuck (gTLD) proxy problem. I know that some constituencies
elect or will elect 5 possible representatives for the Names Council,
one per region, then delegate only 3 of them to the NC, the remaining
two being Alternates for replacements. How do you see such a scheme ?
You should also thing about extreme situation, pure maths, what happen
if all 3 delegates are not available. Such as we have
for the next NC with regard to NCDNH. Kathy resigned. Zacharia is on
vacation. YJP as well. I believe that the system of Constituency
Alternates have a lot of advantages to that, provided these
Alternates are known in advance.
