[nc-org] Re: Revised Statement of Policy
Cary:
I disagree. It is precisely on those issues that the TF members do not
agree, that we most need to solicit public comment.
The UDRP Task Force has established a clear precedent. It is,
in fact, soliciting public comment even before it has any
substantive discussions among itself. Thje only thing it is discussing
is what questions to put to the public.
In that respect, the ORG group is in much better shape. I sent
out a list of 7 items, and there was serious disagreement on only two
of them. That's good news, folks. Let's just take those two items
and solicit public comment.
I think we need to consult with the broader public
to find out what the preponderance of sentiment is.
But I totally agree with Cary that an open Working Group would
be a better (albeit slower) method at discerning consensus.
That route does not seem to be open to us, however.
