[nc-org] NCDNHC supports initial comments; adds an interestingsuggestion
The noncommercial constituency went along with my initial comments.
Louis Touton has answered my concerns about Appendix K by noting
that the language specifically exempts renewals of existing
registrations. I still think Appendix K is silly policy and compeltely
unneeded, but that issue goes beyond .org divestiture to the
registry contracts as a whole.
The constituency provided one supplementary comment
that is, I think, an excellent suggestion.
The RFP could tell registry operators to avoid exclusive agreements
with Non-Profit organizsations that are bidding for control of .org,
so that any non-profit would have access to the same
commercial operator on the same terms.
This would address many of the concerns about fake non-profits
being put forward, and would make it easier for the board to choose
BOTH the best non-profit bidder and the best registry operator.
What do you think?
