Terrific, Richard. I would welcome as much participation from the NC reps,
or their designees as possible.

Marilyn,
The Registry constituency will involve three members in this important TF.
Transfers have a major impact on our Registrar customers and our businesses
and we are very interested in finding the right solution to the current
problems. I will personally participate, I think Cary has already responded
to you, and Roger plans to shortly.
Specifically for the call next Tuesday I will not be able to join as I will
be airborne over the Pacific. Jeff Neuman will stand in for me on that call,
but I will rep all other TF activity.
Best Regards
Richard Tindal

Dear colleagues,
At our last NC call, constituencies were asked to designate a representative
to the NC-Transfer, but so far, most have been unable to complete that
designation. Accordingly, as interim chair, I have asked Glen to incorporate
all of you into the NC TF. You are free, of course, to "opt out" hopefully
leaving one of your constituency members to represent you.
Given the shortness of the working period, it might be preferable if all NC
members could monitor the TF's work over the shortened period of the next
9-10 days.
The Registrars have completed a major piece of work regarding an approach to
dealing with transfers, and concluded a vote, which has been recorded. The
majority of registrars voting supported the document. The document they
have prepared is fairly lengthy, so in consultation with the Executive
Committee of the Registrar Constituency, I have accepted their offer of a
telecom briefing which can serve to educate all constituencies and provide a
background against which to consider the upcoming resolution.
Please mark your calendar for next Tuesday, November 6, 2001, 9:00 a.m.
EST/10:30 am EST (other time zones to follow from secretariat) for a 1 1/2
hour telecom briefing/discussion with the Executive Committee of the
Registrars regarding their document, its recommended process, and a Q and A
to follow.
The Registrar Constituency will host the bridge and the dial in number will
be posted shortly. It would be helpful if you could RSVP, so that we know
how many ports are needed.
In order to make this meaningful and maximize it's effectiveness to the
constituencies, should you have members who wish to join you in the
briefing, can you let me know so that we can ensure that there are
sufficient bridge ports?
As interim chair, I greatly appreciate the offer from the Registrar
Constiency, and urge all who can to participate personally in the
call/briefing/Q and A.
I will be working out an agenda with the help of the Executive Committee of
the Registrar Constituency, and would like to hear from you regarding your
thoughts about the agenda. You can post to the list, or send me personal
email.
It is my intention to try to post a draft resolution shortly after the
conference call for the comment and consideration of the NC TF.
While other events are constraining our ability to devote as much time as we
would like to any particular issue, this issue is of significant importance
to all of us and I hope you will be able to participate.
Each constituency can still chose to designate one member to the TF and to
do that, please let Glen, our secretariat know, and she can remove other
names from the list.
Finally, this issue may not have been considered by your constituency to
date. Should anyone want to talk to me individually about this issue, please
email me at mcade@att.com, or call me at (202)255-7348.
Best regards, Marilyn Cade
P.S. Bridge information will be posted in the next couple of days.
