[nc-whois] RE: Input from ICANN staff
Thanks, Steve, for your suggestion, but we need to be cognizant of some environmental facts.....
Dan is out due to a really great reason -- new baby!!!!
So, congratulations to Dan/family... we wish you very well!!! I'll leave it to Dan to announce the name! BUT, we all are delighted to say "Congratulations"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
AND, while we are demanding, we think that we can await your return for reports, etc. :-)
BUT, we will look forward to any new news on these fronts.
Our best!!!!

Subject: Input from ICANN staff
In addition to the matters Marilyn lists below, I believe we discussed
asking Louis Touton and Dan Halloran to update the information about
experience with the Whois data complaint mechanism instituted about nine
months ago. Dan provided us with a very useful summary snapshot back in
November and I believe an update would be valuable both for the
recommendations of the Task Force and for the additional work now being
contemplated. Could this be done prior to the time that the Task Force meets
with Louis?

Subject: RE: [nc-whois] Final Report -- another draft.
Dear colleagues
I've just spoken to Louis Touton, General Counsel, and will send an
invitation to ICANN staff
shortly. He accepts our invitation, noting that ICANN will welcome the
opportunity to talk to the TF about the recommendations which relate to
ICANN actions. I also asked him and will document the request via email,
what the
responsibilities of the registrars are related to accuracy. We also
discussed the EC communication, and I've verified that the submission has
been undertaken with consultation with other groups in the Commission.
I will follow up to ascertain how to proceed in a useful, positive, dialogue
and Q and A on that front.
Thanks, Thomas. Great progress.
Marilyn
