[registrars] NSI Transfer Policy
Fellow sufferers,
Let my begin by saying flaming a registrar is not my style but frustration
has warped my morals. I need to express to this list the concerns of Nordnet
and the other registrars.
After 2 hours of conversation with NSI concerning their transfer policy, I
have come to two (in fact more but that's for later) conclusion which is the
following:
- NSI considers english to be the only language. Most of our customers speak
French and considering the complexity of their email most people have
trouble
understanding it
- NSI considers the Administrative Contact to have the ultimate authority
concerning the domain. The authority of the Registrant is inferior.
I spoke to the folks in 'Change of Registrar Group' and informed them that
we had a signed authorization from the registrant granting us the right to
transfer
their domain.
NSI's response: We only accept the reply (or non-reply) of the admin contact
as the basis of whether or not the transfer will be approved or rejected.
Something must change. What used to cost $6 USD is becoming a transaction we
cannot afford to do. Total time spent today dealing with 1 domain transfer:

btw: the domain still has yet to be transfered
