[registrars] Transfers TF Update

Registrars,

The minutes of the Dec. 21 NC Transfers TF conference call are now online at

We are currently in the process of fleshing out this action item -

"Ensuring participation/input from registrants: All agreed that a priority
of seeking input from registrants is important, and must address the variety
of ways which registrants use to register names: individual registers for
themselves; individual registers through ISP, other party; business
registers directly, or through agent/attorney, or through ISP or via
relationship as reseller to Registrar; and any other mechanism available."

and clarifying with the ICANN staff on the definition of Apparent Authority.
I expect that there will be a conference call on this subject with Louis
Touton the week of 1/28/02.

Once consultation with these two critically important groups is completed,
we will start to get our hands dirty with the contracts, processes and other
applicable policy items.
