Sorry for any potential confusion.

We are aiming for the 21st - 22nd. I was aware of the Jewish holiday and we
wanted to give ICANN a little more time to select a .org registry successor.
I think having the .org successor onsite to give an update on any technical
transition will be key. With a mid Sept announcement, that only gives the
registrar constituency 16 weeks to prepare to transition 2.5 million names.

Since 1 September is a Sunday, the term "third weekend" is ambiguous.
Do you mean 14-15 September (where 1 September is on the 1st weekend)
or 21-22 September (where 1 September is on the "0th" weekend)?

Note that the evening of 15 September begins Yom Kippur, the holiest day
of the religious calendar year for Jews.
