[registrars] Names council meeting with upcoming votes in 10 days !!!

fellow registrars

I was sure hoping I would have gotten a clearer sense of direction  from the constituency by now for these upcoming names council votes..
we also have significant issues involving whois accuracy & bulk access which are being considered on December 14th as well as the transfer issues.

these whois items have been posted out to the constituency for quite some time now with very little input received.

we have talked about votes and yet with 10 days left we still have no formal (or even informal ) mechanism for providing the nc reps with a
1. yes on one proposal or both
2. no on one or the other proposal or both
3. not sure (i.e. abstain) on one or the other or both

I was really hoping that I didn't just have to "guess" consensus from this constituency on these issues...

in the last 7 days less than 14 registrar companies  have weighed in on any of these proposals... there has been significant interest in the Gomes " principles" proposal but no concrete votes on the immediate issues before us

there is still no "clear sense" of direction for the names  council reps from the constituency on both proposals.
i hate to rely on phone calls from concerned registrars.
I am still hoping for something concrete in the way of a vote (even if it has to be informal).

if I don't see anything concrete between now and the 14th then I as well as the other NC reps will just have to "take the temperature of the constitancy " regarding these proposals based on the emails to the list..  this is not necessarily the best way to do this as I have input from a very limited # of registrars

personally, i feel very uncomfortable basing any voting decision on a constituancy vote taken  many, many months ago .. (needless to say...a lot of water has passed under the bridge since that vote was taken )

best wishes to all of you for a happy holiday season...
