It used to be that for an "average" name, if the
customer paid the bill one week after it was
deleted we could get the name back to them at no
additional charge. (The majority of names could
be considered "average" - not in demand by anyone
and ignored when deleted.) Now of course it will
cost $85 (then $40) to do the same thing. 

After the customer complaints arrive you
will find further reason to be unhappy. And I would
imagine that larger registrars that send out email only
invoices (that are ignored or misdirected) or who
delete large batches of names for a single customer will 
also have a nice problem on their hands. It's a tough enough
thing to tell someone they have to pay $85  for
for one name, let alone $850 for 10 names to be
restored.
