I've just finished speaking with Jean-Christophe. The .TM Registry has a very
interesting business model where a registration term can be refunded for any
unused years. The premise being this would encourage long term registration
without the need to worry about renewal. The Registrant is given the peace of
mind that they can receive a refund for any unused registration years.

I think this would promote long term registrations for other TLDs if such a 
policy
were to be adopted by the mainstream Registries.
