FYI - new ALAC activities -

The ALAC recently submitted comments on:

• "WIPO II" (the recommendations concerning the protection of the names and acronyms of IGOs and of country names in the DNS) (see <http://alac.icann.org/correspondence/comment-wipo-13may03.htm>)
• ERC's ccNSO proposal (see <http://alac.icann.org/correspondence/comment-erc-07may03.htm>)
• New gTLDs (see <http://alac.icann.org/gtld/comments-06may03.htm>)

A forum was established last month to encourage input on ICANN issues and activities of interest to individual Internet users (see <http://forum.icann.org/alac-forum/>).  The ALAC currently is soliciting comments on issues relating to:

• At-Large infrastructure -- proposed criteria and designation process for At-Large Structures and guidelines for Regional At-Large Organizations
• WHOIS database
• New gTLDs
• Internationalized Domain Names
• WIPO recommendations
