RE: [registrars] trademark question and the FCC?
We have had similar experiences in the UK.
We have tried to explain the technical function of a domain and therefore
the emphasis should be on chasing the provider of the web site space.
Generally that satisfies the compliant.
I am not aware of the FCC rules but in the UK there hasn't been a legal
precedent and therefore it is still very much a grey area.
Having said that does it make commercial sense to enter into a costly legal
battle for the price of a domain?

Gary

Subject: [registrars] trademark question and the FCC?
We got a call from a big comapny saying one of our users, domain
registration, was using copyrighted material on the website and that
according to the FCC we as the provider were also liable if we did not take
the site down.
Has anyone had any experience with this or is he right? If he is, this could
really be bad for all of us.
Any input would be appreciated.
