Subject: [registrar] Testbed Extension and Expansion
To the post-testbed registrars:
The United States Department of Commerce and Network Solutions have agreed
to extend the testbed until September 10, 1999 and to allow additional
registrars into the testbed. To be admitted into the testbed, post-testbed
registrars must:
1. Become accredited by ICANN (including signing an ICANN registrar
accreditation agreement);
2. Sign the version of the NSI-Registrar License and Agreement approved for
the **testbed**; and
3. Sign the NSI Confidentiality Agreement.
The Department of Commerce, NSI, and ICANN have had productive negotiations
and have achieved important progress towards resolving remaining issues.
Additional details appear in the Department of Commerce's press release at
http://www.ntia.doc.gov/ntiahome/press/dns08061999.htm.
