[comments-dotorg] Comments on proposed dot org

We support the proposal by the .org TLD taskforce that .org should
become a Sponsored, Unrestricted Domain and Chris Bailey and Duncan
Pruett's posts on the right for the sponsoring organisation to make
stipulations regarding the registrar practices.

We also believe that the administrator of the proposed sponsored and
unrestricted .org must keep the cost of registration as low as possible,
consistent with the need to provide effective service. The administrator
should be a non-profit organization and a portion of surpluses from the
operation of the registry should be placed into a fund to support
non-commercial efforts to protect the Internet.  The allocation of the
funds should be made democratically according to a vote by the .org
domain owners.
