Nintendo of America Inc. voices its support for the Domain Name Supporting Organization's Working Group-C Position Paper posted by Caroline Chicoine (and co-drafted by Anthony Lupo and Petter Rindforth).  

The addition of new generic Top Level Domains (gTLDs such as .firm or .store) causes us concern, primarily for the reasons mentioned by Chicoine, Lupo and Rindforth.  Nintendo has a strong international presence on the internet and is the victim of countless abusive gTLD registrations (under gTLDs .com, .net and .org) for which there is not a sufficient remedy.  The necessary safeguards are not in place for the addition of new gTLDs if Nintendo, a company with adequate resources and legitimate intentions, cannot protect its rights under the current system.  Again, we support the Chicoine Paper by discouraging the addition of new gTLDs at the present time.
