[comments-whois] Asleep at the wheel
In the section entitled "Marketing use of WHOIS data; bulk access
provisions", the statement is made: "Based on these results, the Task Force
recommends a review of the current bulk access provisions of the Registrar
Accreditation Agreement."
Whereas the ICANN Board already referred this matter directly to the Names
Council on 22 January
(http://www.dnso.org/clubpublic/council/Arc09/msg00061.html )
and whereas the Council already voted to delegate this matter to the WHOIS TF
on 14 February
(http://www.dnso.org/clubpublic/council/Arc09/msg00185.html ), what exactly
is the point of stating that the TF recommends a review?
This work has already been assigned to you half a year ago. This is part of
your job. Go ahead and get it done, and please don't let it take forever...
you might even try abiding by the guidance offered by the ERC and actually
completing policy development activities within the recommended 30 - 45
days... wouldn't that be a refreshing change of pace?
